The Quran as a Guide to Mankind
The Quran is the universal book to be followed by mankind. All of mankind. Why do we say so? We say so because the Quran, the last of the last books brought down upon the last of the Prophets, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is a complete code of life. And Allah has brought the book down upon us because through that book Allah has chosen for us Islam as the religion to follow. For by following Islam only is the path to progress and prosperity in this world and the Hereafter.
Allah has said in the Quran:
“We sent down the Quran in truth, and in truth has it descended: And we sent thee but to give glad tidings and to warn (mankind).”
The Quran has hence been sent down to us to give us good news but also to warn us of the punishment in the Hereafter for evil doers. The word “mankind” does not only refer to a specific group or caste or colour of people, rather it refers to all the humans on this earth, by all the creation of Allah and the descendants of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The entire Ummah is to follow the commandments of the Quran and there is nothing more important than that. That is why the allah has sent down the Quran as a message to its readers, indeed as a reminder.
Allah says in the Quran,
“Nay! but the Qur’an is a reminder.”
What is the Quran a reminder of?that we are to do good in this world, follow in the footsteps of the Prophet (PBUH), worship Allah and not to attach any living being with Him. And for WHO is the reminder for? Indeed for the entire mankind! Again and again, Allah has glorified the importance of reading the Quran, listening to it and trying to learn it, ONLY because Allah knows that the Quran has the universal message for mankind, taking them to the straight path.
Allah has said in the Quran,
“A guidance and a mercy unto the righteous ones.”
So be guided to the right path. Follow the path of righteousness in the worship of allah by reading the Quran. And better your life and the Hereafter. Indeed, Allah has sent down the Quran in the language of the people of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) “in order to make (things) clear to them. Now God leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom. (The Noble Quran, 14:4)"
"We sent not an apostle except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now God leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom. (The Noble Quran, 14:4)"
